Series 2 (and hopefully 3) of my gacha moths! Previously just 1 collection, these adorable 22mm pins all sold out - and this time I'm bringing new colorways to Backerkit!

I am so ridiculous, I forgot to mention I have the sticker up and I moved it to the very top of add-ons so you don't have to scroll past dozens (sorry) to get to it.

BK notifs are very slow so I'm not actually sure when you'll get this. Right now as I type we are at roughly 7 hours remaining. If we can hit 5.4k before the end, and if majority of backers pay/cards do not error, I will be able to afford to do 2 catmoth colorways.

Ultimately, I am unfortunately really unhappy with how the Luna catmoth turned out (and tried Rosy Maple with similar results), and due to recent events I am in a very unsettling situation right now. I would like to be somewhat self-indulgent since these are freebies, as a result. I will go with Blue Tiger Moth, as it was the very close runner-up in the poll and I think the result will look nice, and I will do the black moth (Epicopeia Hainesii) sometime tonight just in case we reach that milestone. That way, I will at least have the mold, so if these turn out as cute as I envision, I can at least make a couple more colorways down the road if affordable.

If every backer pays, even at this level we can still reach it, but there are always errors and non-responders and that's just part of crowdfunding. As freebies, these would still stack, but only be able to twice (max 2 for 10+ pins, unless you reach out if you backed for 15+ and say you would like dupes). 

I'm sorry to not follow the poll results to a T! If we had reached 6k I would have tried to make Luna/Rosy Maple work, but right now I can't handle the stress of reworking them and I hope you can understand.

We have finally tentatively passed 4.5k for real, so what's next are the semi-realistic Ouija Moth stickers. Still not finished, unfortunately. Just needs more shading, though, and 1 letter adjustment (L in "HELLO").

It's been an exhausting week already so I don't have much else to share. I won't be able to make Catmoth outside of this campaign, and since it looks like we won't approach 6k at this point I'm a little demoralized and probably won't finish the last 2 colorways. I guess anything can happen, but that's where we're at. 

But these are the great things we've accomplished unlocking together: 

- All 16 gacha moths + Pintober freebie moth and Cross-Collab freebie moth
- All freebie stickers (matte Yumi and holo blue moth)

If we can get at least $500 more, then the Ouija moth sticker will be unlocked, too. Happy to see the love for the pill add-ons, too!

"Nearly 4.5k" update - what's next

Hey all,

We were super close to 4.5k and dropped again, but there's less than a week left so I am not going to put off this update any longer.

I updated the catmoth mold! Here is the design again, as the Luna moth interpretation (WIP): 


I changed the eyes, the proportions, and the legs. I decided I don't want epoxy on this guy at all, and for the pupils to still be printed. I also added a little paw print detail (I'm only giving them 3 toe beans each peet) and fangs because Cat.

And here is Blue Tiger moth so far. I think this one is final, I might add details to the antennae.



The 4 winners seem to be Luna Moth, Blue Tiger Moth, Rosy Maple Moth, and Giant Leopard Moth. Which I am stoked about! However...please forgive me, but I'm going to swap out the Giant Leopard Moth for Epicopeia Hainesii (which from what I can tell does not have a generic moniker). 



I really got the itch to do a void catmoth. 🫣

So again, if we reach 6k, everyone who has at least 5 pins pledged for (this excludes freebies, but includes add-ons that are not moths) will receive one catmoth at random. I'll pick a colorway that resembles the themes of your order. This stacks, so 10+ pins gets you 2 catmoth freebies, 15+ gets you 3, 20+ gets you all 4.

I also, since it's so popular, am working on redesigning the ouija moth to be more semi-realistic like the others! That way I can offer it as an add-on glow in the dark sticker! In the other direction, though, I have no plans to turn the "blue" or "grey" moth patterns into separate pins in gacha (same mold) or out of gacha (different molds). Sorry!



Catmoth still only unlocks at 6k. Let's see if we can get there with one last push!

I will show the rosy maple moth and E.H. (to simplify) early next week as we are on the final week of the campaign, and I will also show the finished semi-realistic ouija moth! 

4k goal almost reached - Lots of news!

I was nervous about getting here since we were hanging juuuust below 4k for days, so I unlocked a bit early as I have a LOT to announce:

  • As mentioned in previous updates, hitting 4k means all of the moths now have a limit of 20 to claim as add-ons, so those that were at 15 (ooze, ouija) are unhidden again. The pledge tier levels for choice pins are still all limited to 10. There is not yet a way to set add-ons to built-in limits like there are for pledge levels, so I just have to watch them constantly. 
  • There were backers who dropped that freed up 3 pledge-tier ooze.
  • I also unhid the single spin add-on for the fish gacha a few days ago. That is now limited to 20; there are 6 left. I still have not made back the investment on them, which is why I don't have them unlimited.
  • I have dropped the 3rd "moth girl" for now, due to lack of interest in the other two as 4" stickers and acrylics. However, instead of a 3rd girl unlocked, I still pieced together something related to them: 
  • Again, this is poisoned against AI and there will be no swirly artifacting in the final product. These sticker sheets are going to be printed at A5 size (approximately 6"x8.5" - lorge), are a discounted price of $13 for backers, and will have a matte glitter laminate, which has a texture!
  • Last but not least, here is the 1" catmoth pin that will be for all pledges that include 5+ pins if we hit 6k by the end! It stacks, every 5 pins you get another free Catmoth (maximum of 4). So for example, if you have 10 spins you automatically get 2. If you have a couple moths and also 3 fish spins, you get 1. It applies to any available pins, but the other freebie pins do not count towards this total. 
  • These are COMPLETELY RANDOM PLACEHOLDER COLORS and there may still be updates to the mold. Since the mold will not change, liberties will have to be taken with patterns chosen. Please vote in the attached poll letting me know what you are interested in for the Catmoth freebies!! These will be fully dyed metal with epoxy and print, some recessed areas, and enamel only in the eyes. The wing patterns are fully print. It is not impossible for us to reach 6k by the end. Please keep sharing and let others know what these look like if you like the lil guy - I know from experience as a backer that for some reason, Backerkit update emails can have quite a delay.
